Heavy Duty Wood That Holds Up to Real Cooking
I’ve been through my fair share of plastic and thin wood boards over the years, and most of them end up warped or scarred within a few months. I picked up this three-pack of acacia boards from HOSHANHO because I needed something that could handle a real knife and a lot of prep work for my family. After putting them to work in my kitchen, I’m giving them a five-star rating because they are built like tanks and look great on the counter. The first thing I noticed was the weight and the grain of the acacia wood. These aren’t flimsy boards. They have a solid, dense feel that doesn’t slide around when I’m hacking through a heavy cut of meat or dicing a pile of vegetables. The deep juice grooves are a huge plus for me. I hate it when liquid runs off the board and makes a mess of the counters, and these grooves actually hold enough to keep things clean. The built-in handles are also carved in a way that makes them easy to grab, even when the boards are heavy with food. My two daughters, who are 11 and 13, have started helping out more with meal prep, and having three different sizes means we can all be working on something at the same time without fighting for space. On the downside, these do require some maintenance. You can’t just throw them in the dishwasher and forget about them. You have to hand wash them and oil them down every once in a while to keep the wood from drying out. Some people might find that annoying, but for a quality piece of wood, it’s just part of the deal. Considering you get three distinct sizes for one price, I think the value is excellent. You’re getting a professional-grade set of tools that should last a long time if you treat them right. It’s a solid investment for any man who spends a lot of time at the grill or the kitchen island.

Thicker than normal cutting boards, pricey
The first thing to notice is that these are thick at slightly over 1 inch. much thicker than most cutting boards. It is constructed from blocks of acacia wood that are glued together. The pattern is very unique as the grains used go in all different directions. As the pictures in the ad show, there are very light and very dark colors in the wood, and no two boards look exactly the same. These would fit in with either modern or traditional kitchens The wood has a wonderful smell out of the box.The surfaces have been sanded smooth on the top, sides and bottom; the only unsanded section are the cutouts at the ends where your fingers go when picking up the cutting boards, which provide extra grip. There is a deep beveled “moat” around the top for collecting liquids. The edges have been slightly rounded smooth. There are 4 rubber cushions on the bottom corners to keep the board from sliding on your counter and to prevent marring the counter surface. There are three cutting board in the set with the large one big enough to hold a medium sized turkey and the small one is perfectly sized for chopping veggies. Hoshanho makes EXCELLENT products using top notch materials combined with quality workmanship. These are fancy cutting boards that you want to show off at your next gathering. IMO, they are very pricey for normal every-day cutting boards but well worth the splurge to add that extra touch of class to your kitchen. I would expect these to last years if not decades with proper care.

Awesome, but thick and heavy
I am actually really happy with the quality of these cutting boards. They are a bit thicker/heavier than I would prefer, but not a deal breaker by any means. After I got them unboxed I conditioned them and got to work chopping on them. They held up really well to everything I threw at them, even chopping through chicken bones did not gouge them. I almost forgot to mention these cutting boards are gorgeous, and really look good on the counter. I would love to give them five stars but they are just so dang thick and heavy. For the price I would have preferred to have received something a bit more ergonomic.

Huge improvement on pine, plastic, or bamboo. Beautiful, durible, and excellent.
Former chef here; These acacia cutting boards are a huge improvement on the pine, bamboo, and plastic cutting boards I’ve been using for so long. They’re hard, stable, and beautiful. Well worth the money if you love being in the kitchen. Here’s what stands out to me:✅ The feet are well designed. They have an “L” shape and are inset, making the board very stable with no slipping, especially when carving larger chunks of meat or handling something technical like spatchcocking or cutting through bone. It seems like the feet won’t come off easily like stickers. ❤️🔥✅ The wood is exceptionally resilient and beautiful. It’s harder than pine or bamboo and resists liquid absorption better.✅ The beautiful pieced arrangement helps prevent wear and tear as well and looks super-nice.✅ Each board is nice and thick, making it more stable while working but also great at standing up on end. You can see, I keep all mine on the side of my microwave for quick access, unless I’m leaving them out when entertaining.✅ The juice troughs are just deep enough. I do a lot of medium rare tri-tip carving and those troughs are put to work.💡 Tips: Make sure to hand wash these cutting boards. A dishwasher will ruin the glue seems on boards of this style, along with remove the oil finish that keeps it looking great.💡 You can re-oil these boards to keep them looking great, I’d usually use an orange oil but just make sure it’s a food safe option.I’m really enjoying this cutting board set so far but if there are any changes in my opinion or its quality, I’ll be sure to report back in. 🤞 I hope you found my notes, pictures and video useful. Be well! ❤️🔥
